"Tsutomu Yamazaki once wrote me a letter which said that being an actor is like walking on a wire. Frankly speaking, I seem to understand what this expression means, yet I don't seem to understand it. Although there can be several interpretations, I'm still looking for my own interpretation. It is difficult. Anyway, I think I'm still at the stage of defining what an actor is."
"I was born in Tokyo, but I grew up in Saitama, a place situated in a rich natural environment. Thus, I used to go fishing and put my bike into a motorcycle. I did lots of outdoor activities. When I was in elementary school, my teachers often bullied me (laugh). I might have been too stubborn. Whenever I get upset, I become really stubborn and never listen to others. Even when my teacher slapped me, I didn't listen nor did I cry. Now, I cannot recall the name of the teacher who slapped me.
"I love taking pictures of the street scenery, but people take those when they are in a good mood. My favorite photo was taken when I was in elementary school. I was on summer vacation at the time and went to my favorite teacher's house in Izu. My teacher took me to the beach where I could see the beautiful scenery. I was deeply touched and took a scenic shot. The photo was well-taken. It's my favorite photo of all the pictures I've taken. Now I think about it, I was a really good photographer to have taken such a nice picture in third grade."
"I think I lie to my parents the most because I don't want them to worry about me. Sometimes when they contact me, they would always worry about me. I would make up small lies in order to reassure them."
